BC-based Contech, Inc. has appointed Bill Jones as vice president of operations. Contech is a researcher, designer, and manufacturer of animal care and control products and non-toxic pest management systems.

Jones comes to Contech and Pherotech from a 10-year tenure with JM Huber Corporation—one of America’s largest and most diverse family-owned businesses. JM Huber provides a broad range of industries with innovative products and services in three sectors: engineered materials, natural resources and technology-based services.

During his time with JM Huber, Jones served as production manager, director of global productivity and, most recently, San Diego plant manger for the company’s CP Kelco division. Jones is known for his ability to grow manufacturing organizations and has a history of successful turnarounds including a plant in Belgium and an operation in Fairmount, GA that his team converted from non-functioning to manufacturing the number one product in the market within two years.

Jones’ education includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from North Carolina State University, and an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School.

In recent years, Contech has significantly increased its presence within the booming pet and garden markets, expanding from its online sales roots into mainstream retail through strategic partnerships with a growing network of specialty stores and large retailers such as PetSmart, PETCO, Canadian Tire, Target and Home Depot.
