Tanglefoot Tangle-Trap Insect Trap Coating is an insect trapping adhesive used to make sticky traps for insect management and monitoring. The formula is clear, odorless and does not contain any insecticides or pesticides. Our trap coating provides excellent adhesion to surfaces and remains tacky through repeated wetting and drying cycles down to a temperature of 38F. The formula will effectively help rid plants, gardens and greenhouses of white flies, adult fungus gnats, thrips, aphids, black vine and pecan weevils, deer and stable flies along with a number of other insects and uses. Tanglefoot Tangle-Trap Insect Coating Paste formula is listed by the Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) for use in organic gardening.
Tangle-Trap is available in five formulations: original paste, brushable, aerosol, tropical and liquid. The paste formulation is the purest grade, but the viscosity is high, requiring application with a spatula or other stiff object. The paste is suitable for all trapping needs and is the most cost-effective.
Brushable Tangle-Trap, having reduced viscosity, is easily applied with a paintbrush. It is ideally suited for contoured trap surfaces. Aerosol Tangle-Trap is suited for any trap surface, but is not recommended where a large number of traps are required since it is packaged in the smallest quantity per unit.
Liquid Tangle-Trap is a water-based product. It can be applied to waterproof surface of traps by dipping, brushing or spraying. Because it is water-based, it must be protected from freezing. Tropical Tangle-Trap is capable of trapping larger flying insects and has a higher viscosity making it suitable for hotter climates.
Apply a thin 1/16" (1.6mm) or less coating with a putty knife or disposable paddle to trap surface. Traps can be made with waxed cardboard, glass, wood, plastic cups, plastic sheets or trap boards, empty milk cartons, red apple spheres or other surfaces. For ease of applications, use at temperatures above 60 degrees F (16C). Attractants can be used with traps to lure insects. Place trap in desired location, away from children and pets to avoid accidental contact.
One pound will cover approximately 3.5 sq. ft. (.325 sq m) of surface area.
Clean tools with mineral spirits, waterless cleaner or baby oil.
Do not reuse empty container. The container can be recycled. If recycling is not available, wrap empty container in newspaper and put into trash. Used traps can be disposed of in the same manner.
